Crafts Directorate

The Crafts Directorate follows up and analyses the status of the crafts businesses, follows up enforcement of laws and regulations stipulating the terms and conditions of crafts businesses operations; proposes economic policy measures for enhanced crafts businesses development and oversees the implementation of proposed measures; proposes projects and financing sources;

carries out appropriate activities for crafts businesses promotion, as well as promotion of organized appearance of craftsmen in the country and abroad; prepares drafts of laws and other regulations within its competence; oversees international regulations from the crafts sector; pursues administrative procedure, administrative and professional control in administrative matters within the competence of  Directorate, unless these activities or part of activities are, pursuant to some other regulation or this Regulation, in the competence of other internal organizational unit or administrative organization within the Ministry;

maintains the Crafts Register and coordinates activities of issuing crafts licences; oversees the vocational training required for the crafts; life long education and upgrading; prepares educational programmes for crafts businesses, life-long education and upgrading programmes; oversees the procedure of issuing crafts licences for practical vocational education;

oversees the craftsman’s examination, master craftsman’s examination and qualifications examination; gives instructions and opinions with respect to enforcement of laws and regulations within its competence; cooperates with other central government bodies and Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts in addressing the issues related to craftsmen’s operations and vocational education, cooperates with professional and scientific institutions and carries out other activities within its scope.
