 The Trade Policy and International Relations Directorate carries out administrative and professional activities related with the trade policy of the Republic of Croatia and its joining the international economic organizations, in particularly the World Trade Organization - WTO, as well as European trade integrations; follows up and promotes economic relations with individual countries, integrations and regional initiatives;

prepares analytic evidences for defining and implementation of foreign economic policy; prepares, harmonizes and manages activities relating to WTO membership of the Republic of Croatia, in particularly of those relating to carrying out of commitments taken over within this organizations; prepares, harmonizes and carries out multilateral trade negotiations within the World Trade Organization - WTO, trade negotiations with individual countries referring to concluding international agreements, in particularly Free Trade Agreements and oversees the implementation of the said agreements;

proposes, implements and follows up the trade policy measures, including the customs protection measures and import protection measures, countervailing and antidumping measures; proposes and follows up the harmonization of legislation in the area of trade, market and entrepreneurship with the EU legislation; coordinates activities and carries on negotiations on EU membership within the competence of the Ministry;

carries on negotiations on signing agreements on promotion and reciprocal protection of investments and other international agreements in the area of foreign economic relations within the competence of the Ministry, proposes export promotion measures and promotion of all trade aspects, in particularly of foreign trade, including promotion and advertising aimed at export promotion.
