The Entrepreneurship Development and Financing Department follows up the status of small and medium companies, enforcement of laws and regulations in this area; develops various aspects of institutional support to small entrepreneurship by means of promotion, education and counselling assistance, proposes harmonization of regulations with the needs of small entrepreneurship; designs and prepares the entrepreneurship financing and subsidies programmes;

follows up international regulations in this area; proposes measures and programmes of small and medium companies development; follows up procedures and defines the entrepreneurship development tendencies; develops the types and methods of entrepreneurship education; organizes upgrading of entrepreneurs, with special emphasize to IT skills;

coordinates activities of investment promotion through funds and oversees the well balanced development of local self government units; provides professional opinion on particular development projects; cooperates with other organizational units, central government bodies, bodies of regional and local self government and other institutions and entrepreneurs’ associations in matters referring to small and medium companies; provides expertise and interpretations on matters within its competence and carries out other activities within its scope.
