The Labour Market and Employment Department carries out following activities: normative regulation of labour market and employment, follow up of active employment policy, follow up of equal treatment in the area of employment and labour (including special rights of disabled persons), follow up of exercising the rights during the unemployment period, providing legal interpretation with respect to application of labour market and employment regulations,

administrative proceedings related to application of labour market and employment regulations, providing professional assistance to entities, employers, workers and unemployed persons, participating in the procedure of concluding multilateral international agreements in the area of employment and detachment of workers and the corresponding follow up, administrative and other professional activities related to participation in activities of international organizations and European integrations in the area of labour and social security, follow up of international labour and labour market regulations, participation in the procedure of concluding multilateral international agreements in the area of labour and employment, screening of harmonization of labour law legislation in the Republic of Croatia with the international agreements and regulations of EU integrations,

participating in drafting regulations in the area of labour and labour market, preparing reports on multilateral international agreements in the area or labour and social security, cooperation with international organizations, administrative control in the area of labour market and employment (Croatian Employment Office, Development and Employment Fund), second instance procedures pursuant to the Act on Protection of Workers Claims in Case of Employer’s Bankruptcy, and other activities specified by the Minister.
