The Investments and Investment Promotion Department carries out activities referring to planning, development and promotion of opportunities for attracting all types of investments, as well as realization of investment projects in the Republic of Croatia. The Department provides technical and counselling assistance to domestic and foreign investors, plans and develops the investment promotion strategy, prepares reports and provides professional information within its competence, cooperates with other national, local and economic institutions in specific investment projects until harmonization and realization of agreements, proposes concrete solutions to certain issues, follows up the realization of agreed projects, identifies problems in realization of specific projects.

Apart of it the Department carries out the activities related to implementation of Investment Promotion Act in the section referring to incentive measures, customs and tax benefits, receives and analyses the requests for approval of incentive measures, customs and tax benefits and maintains corresponding records, proposes and improves the legal regulations with the purpose of improvement the investment conditions, prepares periodical reports on implementation of investment promotion strategy, cooperates with other national authorities of the Republic of Croatia with the goal of establishing the necessary organizational structure for implementation of laws and other regulations referring to investments and free zones in the Republic of Croatia, prepares the drafts of regulations stipulating the legal issues and follows up the implementation of legal regulations; carries out other activities within its scope.
